I am running ss2008 r2. Throughout the day my SSMS loses connections to the server. It did not used to.
On a busy day I may have two or more SSMS sessions running (one for each active project) each with one or more active query sessions (connections). After a while (hour?) the query sessions disconnect from the server instance and I have to re-connect which is a pain. I connect with a SS login and I have to select the proper Login from the drop-down and enter the password dozens of times a day. I hate it. A real productivity killer.
So the question is: how do I prolong the time before the connection is lost? Or is there a different question I should be asking?
